Courtyard by Marriott Reykjavik Keflavik Airport

An international accommodation for an emerging economy.

As part of KKA’s continuing design support to CIMC’s volumetric building system, the design development of a 150-key Courtyard by Marriott was based off of the design of a local Icelandic architect. From the perspective of modular design and incorporating cost efficiencies in volumetric standardization, the result is a rational building whilst allowing the original aesthetic design intent to remain unaffected.

The technical delivery of the scheme entailed close liaisons with teams in China, Iceland, and the UK to ensure the precision manufacturing was aligned with Marriott expectations and in-situ site construction.
